All About Paint

Selecting paint colors: Painting your home and making those paint selections are one of the most cost-effective decisions you will make, so choose wisely! Take into consideration the adjoining rooms and their colors, so it all flows together, when repainting a room. Keep in mind that there is an entire psychology behind paint colors and how it can affect a person’s mood. Blues and greens tend to have a calming effect, whereas reds and yellows result in the opposite psychological response. Also, when considering white paints (or any other color), pay close attention to the undertones. They can have touches of pink, blue or yellow. Once decisions have been narrowed down on a color, always take the samples home, or even better, paint a section of your wall and be sure to look at it when it is dry and in all lighting (natural daylight, morning light and evening). And lastly, just because you may have seen a color you like in someone else's home, does not necessarily mean it will work in yours! A lot depends on your furnishing, window location, lighting and other materials.
